Floyd County police are investigating the discovery of a body Wednesday afternoon off of Cunningham Road near U.S. 411, between Six Mile and Cave Spring.
Police spokesman Jerome Poole said that an individual, whom he didn’t name, called 9-1-1 around 4:30pm after seeing the woman’s body in a ditch by a fence across the service road to a water tower.
That body has now been identified as that of Hope Parr – a resident of Rome.
No additional information, including the cause of death, is being released at this time.
The body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab, where an autopsy will be performed.
