Rebecca Lynn Price Enters Guilty Plea to Manslaughter Charge

Rebecca Lynn Price of Centre entered a guilty plea in Cherokee County court last Friday to a charge of Criminally Negligent Homicide as a lesser included Offense of Manslaughter.  The at-the-time 20 year old was indicted in November of 2016 by a Cherokee County Grand Jury on a Manslaughter charge, in connection with an auto accident occurring on November 12th, 2015 – which claimed the life of 25 year old Lani Michelle Wilkerson-Hall of Centre.

According to reports the wreck took place at 5:29am when Hall’s vehicle, a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, was involved in a head-on collision with a 2004 Jeep Liberty being driven by Price.  Hall was pronounced dead at the scene, and a two year old child in her vehicle was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment; Price was also transported to Floyd where she was treated and released that same day, according to a hospital spokesperson.

That crash occurred on Highway 411, approximately one mile south of the Georgia line.

Sentencing for Price has been set for January 9th, 2019 at 9:00am.
