Centre Man Facing Meth Charges in Northwest Georgia

A Cherokee County resident was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Wednesday on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence.  According to Floyd County Jail records 46 year old Roscoe L. Covington of a County Road 16 address in Centre ran from officers on Martha Berry Boulevard, while possessing two glass pipes containing suspected meth residue.

He reportedly threw down the pipes as he was running – shattering one of them; Covington was also charged with misdemeanor counts of obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession of drug-related objects.
