Deer Crashes Through Windshield of Car on Highway 53 in Floyd County

A motorist was very lucky to escape injury when a deer crashed through her windshield on Tuesday morning.  According to Floyd County Police the eight-point buck ran in front of the Toyota on Highway 53, just north of Shannon Road, and crashed through the windshield on the passenger side.

The buck was alive, and still inside the vehicle when police arrived.  Floyd County Animal Control responded and the deer had to be tranquilized before being removed.

Due to the severity of its injuries, including a broken back and broken legs, the deer had to be put down.
