An Attalla man was arrested by the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office in connection to a case of Identity Theft – a felony; that, according to a news release by Sheriff Todd Entrekin. Jeffery Brett Staton, age 28, stands accused of using the victim’s ID and banking information without their permission, to make fraudulent transactions totaling $700.
Staton was booked in at the Etowah County Detention Center, and later released on $5,000 bond.
