Piedmont Couple Arrested in Connection with Hokes Bluff Arson Case

A Piedmont couple has been arrested in connection with a fire occurring at Pledger’s Mini-Storage in Hokes Bluff.

Michael William Vice, age 28 and his wife, 26 year old Courtney Danielle Vice – both stand charged with one count of third degree burglary, a felony; one count of third degree arson and one count of fourth degree theft of property, both misdemeanors.

According to information in a news release from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office – video retrieved from nearby stores along with witness statements, placed both individuals at the storage buildings shortly before the fire began. 

Their storage unit had been advertised as a unit to be sold at auction.

Both parties were booked into the Etowah County Detention Center with bond being set at $4,500 each; both have since bonded out.

Michael Vice is also a convicted sex offender according to that news release.
