A Floyd County Grand Jury has returned a murder indictment against an 18 year old, in the shooting death of a 37 year old man earlier this year (2018).
On July 25th just prior to midnight, officers with the Rome Police Department responded to 814 Maple Avenue in reference to a shooting. At the home they found LaMario Majors who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest; he was taken to an area hospital, where he died five days later.
Investigators identified Keilan Orr as the shooter. Orr was located and arrested without incident several hours after the shooting and charged with aggravated assault. Those charges were upgraded to murder after Majors died.
