Anniston School Bus Caught in Crossfire of Wednesday Afternoon Shootout

According to Anniston Police officials, a school bus got caught in the crossfire of a shootout between two juveniles as it was leaving the depot around 2:00pm Wednesday.  At about that same time, people inside two vehicles traveling on South Noble Street started shooting at each other. The bus encountered that gunfire near F Street, where several of the windows were shot out.  Fortunately, no children were on board at the time.

One of the juveniles involved in the shooting was struck in the shoulder and transported to an area hospital for treatment.  The juvenile’s injuries were not life-threatening.  Police reportedly found the second car involved in that shooting in the 1700 block of Rocky Hollow Road.  They also obtained a search warrant and have searched a residence near that location.

No arrests have yet been made, however police say they expect charges to be filed soon.
