Gaylesville Man Arrested on Multiple Traffic Violations Following Safety Checkpoint Stop in Chattooga County

A northwest Georgia road block recently turned out to be a northeast Alabama man’s worst enemy.

According to arrest reports, 28 year old Kevin Lee Bice of Gaylesville, driving a 2006 Mazda – was stopped at a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Alpine Road and Oak Hill Road in Lyerly by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, and when asked for his driver’s license and proof of insurance he was only able to produce a driver’s license.

Checks were conducted on the vehicle registration and the driver’s license and Mazda came back with a suspended registration, and the license came back as having been expired since this past March.  The vehicle also lacked valid insurance coverage.

Bice was informed of the issues with his car and license and was placed under arrest before being transported to the Chattooga County Jail, with the vehicle being towed from the scene
