A 57 year old Jacksonville man was killed, and his teenage passenger was seriously injured, in a Calhoun County auto accident on Tuesday.
The wreck took place at 11:50am on Alabama Highway 77 approximately 10 miles south of Ohatchee and according to Alabama State Troopers a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup being driven by Robert Bryan Howard left the roadway and overturned.
Howard, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 16 year old male passenger was air-lifted to UAB Hospital for treatment; the extent of the teen’s injuries wasn’t noted on the accident report.
That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
