Weiss Lake Improvement Association Assists Park Board

During the regular meeting of the Cherokee County Park Board on Wednesday, Weiss Lake Improvement Association representatives, Sam Marko and Mark Collins, presented the Board with a check for $1,500 to assist with the Observation Deck Project now underway at Cherokee Rock Village Park. The Observation Platform will be 20 by 30 feet extending over a rock formation near the bluff overlooking the valley below with beautiful views of Weiss Lake. It will be handicapped accessible to allow those with limited mobility to enjoy views they have been missing until now. The Deck will be open to the Public in October.

Cherokee Rock Village Park is located at 2000 County Road 70 at Leesburg and is open to the Public 7 days per week. Park patrons are able to enjoy hiking, rock climbing, picnics, primitive tent camping, RV Campsites, bird watching, family gatherings under the large pavilion, a play ground for children, bathhouse and restrooms, and photo opportunities with scenic views from breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.

A Park Store is open daily with snacks, soft drinks, camping supplies, personal care items,  and a variety of climbing gear.

Admission is only $5.00 per day per car with camping $10 per day. Patrons may purchase an annual pass for only $25 and enjoy the park as much as they want.
