Piedmont Man Charged with Attempted Burglary in Rock Run Community

A Piedmont resident is currently residing in the Cherokee County Detention Center; that, as the result of his being arrested on Monday night, for trying to break into a home in the Rock Run community.  Cherokee County E-911 received a call at around 9:00 from a homeowner stating that a man was attempting to get into the residence.  The subject wasn’t able to gain entry but damaged the door.  

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies quickly arrived and found the suspect, later identified as 43 year old Jason Dwight Nicholson, near the residence and took him into custody.

He had been seen earlier in the evening walking around the neighborhood.

Nicholson was transported to the Detention Center, and booked in on charges of Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree in addition to Public Intoxication.

His bond has been set at $11,500.

The arrest was based on Probable Cause. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
