A portion of County Road 18 at the intersection of County Road 45 was completely shutdown for well over two hours after an 18 wheeler ran off in a ditch while attempting to make a turn.
The truck hauling a load of wheat had to be offloaded before the truck could be moved. A backhoe and a large rotatory wrecker was brought in to remove the rig from the road. There were no injuries reported in the mishap.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, McCord’s Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers and Wrecker Crews with Fagan’s Wrecker Service responded to the scene.
