Two people were placed under arrest Tuesday, in connection with a burglary and theft that occurred at a residence in the Ellisville community.

27 year old Mitchell Blake Slayton of a Leesburg address and Morgan Elizabeth Ball also 27, a resident of Centre – were taken into custody and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Property 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.  Slayton was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators recovered an RTV that had been taken from the home and returned it to the owner.

Both Slayton and Ball were booked into jail that afternoon.  Ball was later released after she made bond, which had been set at $10,500 – while Slayton remains in the Detention Center, with bond set at $13,500.
