We are continuing to monitor the possibility for severe weather for our area late tonight and Saturday. Right now, the National Weather Service says that the greatest threat for Cherokee County will be between 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Saturday with the possibility of damaging winds tonight into Saturday morning.
The greatest threat for our area is going to be damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, quarter sized hail and a possible tornado.
The weather service says that there is still a lot of uncertainty with this storm system. Cherokee County remains under a slight risk for severe weather but that could change as the system approaches.
