First Responders Dinner Set for this Saturday at Centre First United Methodist Church / Sponsored by Centre Cub Scout Pack #247

One of Cherokee County’s finest groups is holding an event in honor of another of Cherokee County’s collection of individuals – Joshua Kesmiri tells us more:

We spoke with Joshua earlier in the week and he informed us that this was chosen as Troop #247’s first full-scale community service project of this type.  We asked him where the idea for the Dinner came from:

The pack-members fully supported the idea and are excited about Saturday’s event, and are looking forward to meeting members of law enforcement, firefighters – and all types of first responders who may stop by.

Keshmiri would like everyone to know that they’re always looking for new members and in the Cub Scouts, sponsored locally by the Centre Rotary Club, which is for ages kindergarten – 5th grade, children have the opportunity to take part in fun-filled, educational community service and conservation projects.

Troop #247 has helped revitalize and clean up neighborhood streets, they’ve planted trees, performed a variety of cleanup work at parks including Cherokee Rock Village, and they’ve recently done work with Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie building birdhouses and constructing a number of feeders as part of a nature and beautification project for the city.

To find out more about joining the Cub Scouts or Saturday’s event, contact Joshua Keshmiri at (256) 706-7212.

All First Responders are invited to a special First Responder Dinner this Saturday, July 21st, at the Centre First United Methodist Church, 341 West Main Street, starting at 5:00pm.  The event is being sponsored by the Centre Cub Scout Pack #247, with each meal consisting of a Sloppy Joe, Chips, a Drink and Dessert.

For those first responders who may be on duty that day, they will deliver your meal to you.
