Wendel Gene Vaughn, age 79 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, July 4th.
Funeral services will be 1:PM Saturday, July 7th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Robison and Rev. David Sparkman officiating; burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The fami;ly will receive friends from 11:AM until 1:PM Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Jimmy Floyd, Chris Woods, Dylan Vaughn, Chuck Barlkey, Bradley Gaddison, Willie Spears.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Speers Vaughn; sons, Randall Vaughn of Lexington, TN, Jeff Vaughn of Lexington, TN, Malcom (Dawn) Vaughn of Leesburg, Charles Vaughn of Centre; daughters, Patricia (Jim) Crenshaw of Manchester, TN, Gloria (John) Lee of Catrersville, GA, Jennifer (Perry) Varner of Rome, GA; brothers, Gerald Vaughn of Hartselle, Reuben (Judy) Vaughn of Piedmont, James Vaughn of Albertville, Rickey Vaughn of Centre, David (Delita) McFarland of Cedar Bluff; sisters, Doris (Buddy) Barkley of Centre, Syble (Phillip) Jones of Albertville, Leisa (David) Sparkman of Centre, Marie Carroll of Attalla; 19 grandchildren; 2 special grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Gordon “Scoopus” and Willie Jo McFarland Vaughn, was a truck driver and was a member of Exie Congregational Holiness Church.
