Portion Of The Chestnut Bypass Shutdown On Tuesday Night Due Hydraulic Oil Spill

The right lane of the Chestnut Bypass between Sand Valley Road and Tate’s Chapel Road was shutdown for an extended period of time on Tuesday night as EMA officials along with Centre Firefighters worked to cleanup a five gallon bucket of hydraulic oil that fell from a vehicle.

It took emergency personnel approximately two hours to apply a drying agent and wash down the highway before it was finally reopened.

Centre Police also responded to assist with traffic control.
