Accident Report Released Regarding Two Vehicle Crash Involving A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Vehicle

The Centre Police Department accident report has been released regarding a two car crash involving a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle occurring on the Chestnut Bypass back on June 10.

According to the report the accident involved a 2013 C1500 Chevy Tahoe patrol vehicle being driven by Deputy Hunter Brisendine of Leesburg and a 1997 Chevy Lumina being driven by Jonathan Allen Roberts of Centre.

The report states that Deputy Brisendine was on his way to a call with emergency lights and sirens activated, Brisendine slowed down for the traffic light intersection and then proceeded south bound when all cars had stopped.

Roberts had a green light at the traffic light intersection but was unable to see Brisendine due cars in the turning lane. According to the report Brisendine was also unable to see Roberts due to the same cars in the turning lane; Brisendine struck Roberts in the driver side door and rear door.

The report noted that Roberts was checked at the scene by Cherokee EMS and released and then transported by personal vehicle to Gadsden Regional, he later decided not to go to the hospital.
