Sardis Man Arrested On Drug/Trafficking Charges

(Etowah County, Alabama). One individual is charged with drug related offenses in Etowah County, according to Deputy Commander Phil Sims.

Donald Naylor, 35, of Sardis, is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, and two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $60,000 surety bond.

On June 15, 2018, Agents executed a search warrant at a building located at 405 Sardis Cut-Off Rd in Sardis. The search warrant was based on drug sales from the building. Naylor was inside the building at the time.

During the search of the residence, agents found approximately 56 grams of methamphetamine in the front part of the building used as a make shift living area. Also, several items used for drug paraphernalia and a .22 caliber rifle were found with the drugs.  

Naylor was transported to the Etowah County Detention Center without incident.

This case will be referred to the U. S. Attorney’s Office for possible federal prosecution.

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Sardis Police Department, Alabama National Guard Counterdrug Program, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.
