Lake Winnepesaukah Cited A Third Time This Week By The State Of Georgia

Lake Winnepesaukah has been cited a third time this week after authorities with the State of Georgia say the park failed to report another accident.

The Georgia Fire and Insurance Commissioner’s office confirms that an accident the happened on May 27th of this year was not reported and fined Lake Winnie $1,000.  This made the third citation and the second fine for the park this week.

The May 27th accident was reported this week by the park after the Fire and Insurance Commissioner’s Office launched an investigation into an accident that happened on Sunday of this week.  The park was also fined in connection with another accident in May that was not reported.

A woman was injured on May 27th on the Wild Lightning ride – the same ride that a woman received injuries from on Sunday of this week.  In the May 27th incident, the woman received head and arm injuries and was taken to the hospital.  The Wild Lightning ride at the park remains closed as investigators continue looking into Sunday’s accident.   The other May accident happened on the Boat Chute.

Lake Winnie was issued a citation for failing to report the accident on Sunday and a $500 fine for failing to report the Boat Chute accident.  Thursday, they were fined $1,000 for failing to report the May 27th accident
