Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton suffered a cardiac episode on Tuesday after responding to a call near Pruett’s Fish Camp just outside of Centre.
After being stabilized and treated at Cherokee Medical Center, Dr. Deaton was transferred by ambulance to Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome and admitted on the cardiac floor where his condition had stabilized.
Dr. Deaton “wishes to express a sincere thank you to the men and women at Cherokee Medical Center and Cherokee EMS for their professionalism and friendship during this time. Their level of expertise and care literally saved my life!”
Deaton said that he wishes to thank the many citizens that have called to express their well wishes and ask about his condition.
