Alabama State Troopers Respond to Four Accidents in Cherokee County on Memorial Day

Alabama State Troopers were kept busy in Cherokee County on Memorial Day – responding to four separate auto accidents, only one of which, fortunately, involved an injury.

That first wreck took place at 10:10am on County Road 44 near County Road 377, when the driver of a 2007 Infiniti, a 20 year old female from Leesburg, lost control of that vehicle and fortunately was only shaken up.

A two-vehicle wreck took place near Little River Canyon Bridge on Highway 35 at 12:50pm, involving a 2011 Chevrolet driven by 35 year old Alexander Hamilton of a Ft Payne address and a 2014 Ford driven by Haschal Thompson.  Hamilton was listed as being injured in that mishap while Thompson escaped injury.  The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

Two accidents took place that evening on Alabama 68 – the first was a single-vehicle wreck taking place at 6:10 involving a 2010 Ford being driven by a 57 year old male from Centre – and that second mishap occurred at 7:43, involving a 2016 Volvo driven by a male resident of Rome, Georgia and a 2000 Chevrolet driven by a male resident of Decatur, Alabama.
