Centre Man Arrested on Multi-Count Grand Jury Indictment Involving Sex Crimes

A Centre man is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center following his arrest on Friday of last week – on a multi-count grand jury indictment involving sex crimes.

Douglas Fullmer Goffaux, 57, was arrested in Leesburg by Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, and booked into jail on charges of the sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age three counts of second degree sodomy and four counts of second degree sexual abuse.

The investigation, which was conducted by Chief Summerford, stemmed from allegations of illegal activity ranging from 2013 through this year (2018).

Goffaux was arrested last month (in April) for one count of sodomy relating to this case.

He remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
