According to information in a news release issued Monday morning by State Trooper Curtis Summerville an ATV accident Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a DeKalb County teen.

A 17 year old from Fyffe was killed when the Yamaha ATV he was operating left the road on DeKalb County 18 and struck a tree.  The accident occurred at approximately 4:35pm, some two miles north of Geraldine.  The young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trooper Summerville, who is the Troop F Public Information Officer, said that no additional information is being released at this time, and the investigation into the matter continues.
