One Person Injured In Single Vehicle Accident In Gaylesville On Friday

One person was airlifted from the scene of a single vehicle accident occurring on County Road 41 just off of County Road 114 in Gaylesville at 4:50 p.m. Friday.

According to reports the driver was ejected approximately 30 feet from the vehicle and was found by Gaylesville Firefighters as they arrived on the scene.

Initially a medical transport helicopter was called to the scene; however the victim was taken EMS ground units to the hospital.

Gaylesville Fire Department, Cherokee EMS, Law Enforcement officers and Rescue Squad personnel all responded to the scene.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement agency accident report the accident involved a 1994 Jeep driven by 59 year old Gaylesville resident Caroline Payne. The report noted that Payne was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
