Two individuals were arrested on drug charges during the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Michael Allen Simmons, 38 of Southside, was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Theft of Property 4th Degree, while Staci Michelle Tomo, age 44 from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was placed under arrest on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree along with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Simmons was booked into jail just after 3:30am, Tomo shortly after 1:30am.

Both remain lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting setting of bond.
