Man Charged with Soliciting Another Individual to Run Prosecutor Scott Lloyd’s Vehicle Off the Road Sentenced to Prison

A Ft Payne man accused of soliciting another person to force the vehicle of prosecutor Scott Lloyd off of a mountain road back in 2014, was sentenced to a prison term of 19 years late last week. 

Jason Kilgro, age 45, pled guilty to Solicitation to Commit First Degree Assault. 

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall stated in a News Release, that, in an effort to stop Lloyd from attending a sentencing hearing that year Kilgro approached another man asking him to run Lloyd off the road.  The person instead reported the request to law enforcement officials. 

The solicitation case had been investigated by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, and Kilgro had been indicted for Solicitation of Murder but pleaded to the lesser charge.  He had already been serving time for DUI, Burglary and Drug Possession.  Earlier last week, Kilgro had also been sentenced to a year behind bars on a misdemeanor assault charge that stemmed from a jailhouse fight,
