One Dead, One Charged with Vehicular Homicide Following Highway 27 Crash

A single-vehicle accident Wednesday night in Floyd County has claimed the life of a 17 year old Rome resident and resulted in the arrest of a 31 year old Lindale man on a charge of 1st Degree Vehicular Homicide.

Deputy Floyd County Coroner Connie Chandler says Dylan Jackson was fatally injured after being ejected from the vehicle.  His body is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, that accident occurred on Highway 27 South at Maple just prior to 11:00pm. 

Joey Lee Floyd of a Crescent Avenue address – in addition to Vehicular Homicide – is facing charges of DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane.
