Former Northwest Georgia Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Trafficking Marijuana

A former Northwest Georgia Police Officer was in Floyd County Superior Court this week to face felony drug charges

On Wednesday morning 40 year old Earnie Edward Cox entered a guilty plea to the charges of Trafficking Marijuana, Bribery and Violation of Oath of Office.  Cox was arrested over a year ago following a six-month drug investigation into a marijuana trafficking operation.

Cox was one of three people charged in that investigation, which was conducted by the GBI, Georgia State Patrol, Rome Police Department and Floyd County District Attorney’s Office.
