Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Supports Project Child Safe/Practice Safe Gun Ownership Program

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office would like to encourage the public to practice safe gun ownership.  Project Child Safe was founded in 1999 by members of the firearms industry and funds programs to promote firearm safety.

The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc., to offer free cable-style gun locks, which are available at the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated “By working together to promote firearms safety we can help save lives.”
