A Chattooga County sex offender was arrested over the weekend for failure to register; that according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader. 55 year old Jeffery Don Hughes was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Office Deputies and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Sunday evening.

Hughes was convicted of Sexual Battery Against a Child Under the Age of 16 in February of 2016.
According to Chattooga County Jail records Hughes was charged with a Probation Violation and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
