The driver of a Ford truck was treated at the scene while his passenger was airlifted to UAB in Birmingham for treatment after being involved in a single vehicle rollover taking place at the intersection of Highway 9 South and County Road 18, just south of Ellisville Wednesday afternoon just after 2:00

The driver, 37 year old Gary Haynes of Gadsden was treated by Piedmont Rescue medics as the passenger, 34 year old Crystal Haynes, was transported by Cherokee EMS to the Centre-Piedmont-Cherokee County Regional Airport, where she was airlifted to UAB by a LifeSaver Helicopter.

The Ellisville Fire Department and Cherokee County Rescue personnel, along with Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene. The Centre Fire Department was additionally called in to assist in establishing the Landing Zone.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
