Ft Payne Man Arrested After Reportedly Making Threatening Remarks About Neighborhood Juveniles

Little information is known regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident however a 52 year old Ft Payne man was arrested at his residence on Alabama Avenue Northwest by members of the Ft Payne Police Department, after he reportedly made threatening remarks about neighborhood juveniles. 

According to a News Release from the Ft Payne Police Department, Charles Edward Murrell made those remarks to Lt. Nick Brown and Captain Lee Traylor and as they were gathering information Murrell became increasingly belligerent while standing in his yard – as several neighbors witnessed the outburst.

Murrell was eventually placed under arrest and was charged with Menacing and Disorderly Conduct. 

He was transported to the Ft Payne City Jail where bond was set at $1,000 for each charge – at that point he refused to answer any further questions regarding the incident.
