A Jacksonville State University employee dies in a tragic accident. Tatum Deason was driving north on Highway 9 into Centre on Thursday morning when her vehicle left the roadway. Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton says her truck flipped and she was partially thrown from the truck. Deason was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deason was an grounds keeper and maintenance employee at Jacksonville State University for more than 10 years. A service for Deason will be held Sunday, March 4th at 2pm at the Chapel of K-L Brown Funeral Home.
