Dow rallies nearly 400 points

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Wall Street closed in the green on Monday as the market continues to regain its losses from earlier this month.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 399.28 (+1.58 percent) to finish the session at 25,709.27.

The Nasdaq jumped 84.07 (+1.15 percent) to close at 7,421.46, while the S&P 500 finished trading at 2,779.60, up 32.30 (+1.18 percent) for the day.

Crude oil prices were up about 0.6 percent at about $64 per barrel.

Winners and Losers:  Berkshire Hathaway reported earnings that exceeded expectations in the fourth-quarter and said it largely benefited from the new tax law. Shares climbed 3.98 percent.

In an interview with CNBC, billionaire Warren Buffett said Berkshire Hathaway has “bought more Apple than anything else,” driving Apple’s stock to close 1.98 percent higher.

Shares of Dean Foods tumbled 13.03 percent after the company reported it missed earnings estimates in quarter four.
