A Boaz man has been arrested in connection to domestic violence, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Richard Cody Nix, 26, of Boaz, is charged with one count of domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
He assaulted an 87 year-old female victim by choking, punching and throwing the victim around the residence. The female had multiple abrasions and bruises and visible marks on her neck and face.
Nix is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. As a condition of his bond, he is to have no contact or communication with the victim.
