JSU Student Struck and Killed by Vehicle Tuesday Night

A Jacksonville State University student was killed when he was hit by a car near the campus Tuesday night.  The victim was identified by Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown as 23 year old Justin Tinker, a chemistry major and campus tutor.  Tinker was taken to Anniston Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The accident took place on Alabama 204; the driver of the vehicle – who was identified only as another student – did stop and speak with law enforcement after hitting Tinker. The body will be sent for an autopsy.

Plans are already underway to honor Tinker during Spring Graduation at JSU this May.
