Two Arrested on Drug and Stolen Property Charges; One Wanted on Fugitive From Justice Warrant Out of Georgia

Two individuals were taken into custody by Sheriff’s Office Investigators on Monday from a residence near the intersection of County Roads 31 and 33.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said investigators were looking for Jeffery Lynn Jordan, age 54 of Centre, on a Fugitive from Justice warrant from Georgia, in connection with a case of aggravated assault.  Jordan was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs, in addition to a stolen vehicle from Floyd County, and as a result, he was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Another individual at the residence Rudy Mills, age 43 from Piedmont was also arrested for Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree, the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Mills had additional warrants for Bond Revocation and Non-Support.

Both were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Jordan will be extradited to Georgia upon making bond in Cherokee County.
