Mr. James A. “Bud” Rogers, age 89, of Centre, passed away Friday February 2, 2018 at Cherokee Health and Rehab, in Centre.

Mr. Rogers was born September 16, 1928 in Cherokee County, a son of the late Ramus Rogers, and Annie Jay Kerr Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Twilley Rogers, daughter Shelia Adams, Dorothy Rogers, son, James Rogers, granddaughter Melissa, grandson, Jabo, brother, Bobby Jack Rogers.

Survivors include daughters, Barbara Kitchens, Sue (Travis) Wall, Ellen (Keith) Morgan, sister, Willene Highfield, brother, Hugh “Toby” Rogers, grandchildren Paula Preston, Ray Hicks, Jennifer Johnson, Betty Harrell, Kim Motes, Katie Spoon, Janice Whaley, Jessica Stancil, Kristi Lewis, Keith Morgan, Jr. Scottie Gowens and Alvin Gowens, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (EST) on Sunday February 4, 2018 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Barry Rogers, Jr. Rev. Josh Bryant, and Greg Spoon, officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, near Forney, Al. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. (EST) on Saturday February 3, 2018 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
