Centre Man Charged with Assault and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

Jessie Blaze Godfrey, age 24 of Centre, was taken into custody last Thursday (February 1st), by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jordan Kelley in connection with an assault and credit card fraud case.  According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Godfrey was involved in an assault that had occurred in the Walmart parking lot involving a vehicle.  He was also charged with using the victim’s credit cards in at least seven locations in and around Centre.

Godfrey was placed under arrest and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of Assault 2nd Degree, seven counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, and for Failure to Appear on the prior charges of Attempting to Elude and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
