David Miller, age 72 of Centre, passed away Tuesday, January 30th at McGuffey Healthcare.
Memorial service will be 1 pm Saturday, February 3rd at First Baptist Church of Centre in the fellowship hall with Rev. Donald Guttery officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers include members of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include his son, John Robert Miller of Los Angeles, Ca., as well as, his daughter Casey Miller (Mike) Armstrong of Decatur, AL. He is also survived by his mother, Rebecca Miller Allen of Centre and Grandson, Gibson Miller Fellows.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Vance Miller.
David was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Air Force, worked at Goodyear in Gadsden, started two businesses — 68 Bypass Grocery in Centre and D&J Pawn in Piedmont — volunteered with the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and spent years working as a Cherokee County Deputy Sheriff.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cherokee County Rescue Squad.
