Following 34 years of dedicated service to the City of Centre, longtime City Clerk Mary Lee Tucker said goodbye on Tuesday morning as she has made the decision to retire.
A reception in Tucker’s honor was held on Tuesday morning in the council chambers where family, friends, coworkers and a number of elected officials and community service members gathered to share in a special moment for Tucker.
Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie said that this a day that the current administration has dreaded for a long time.
Tucker said during her retirement she plans to spend more time with her grandchildren.
