One person was airlifted from the scene of a single vehicle accident taking place on the Chestnut Bypass near the Cherokee County Career & Tech School on Monday afternoon.
The vehicle ran off of the roadway and down an embankment before coming to rest in some trees. Centre Police and Firefighters, Cherokee EMS and Cherokee County Rescue personnel responded to the scene.
The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics and then airlifted from the scene to a nearby trauma center; no update was immediately available concerning the condition of the individual.
