A 25 year old Alabama resident was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Monday morning on the Piedmont Highway as she was apparently returning home.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials Lindsay Conner of Piedmont left the roadway in a curve, hit a mailbox then struck an embankment before the flipped traveling more than 100 feet, ejecting the victim from the car before finally coming to rest in several small pine trees in the front yard of a home.
Polk County Deputy Coroner Ivan Warner pronounced Conner dead at the scene at 6:08am, about 20 minutes after the accident was discovered..
No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured in the wreck.
The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
