King David Conkle, Jr., 86 of Rome, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at Daniel Cemetery, located adjacent to Little River Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 273 in the Little River community. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Survivors include wife, Delane Daniel Conkle of Rome; daughter, Rhonda Kujak of Rome; brother, Richard Conkle; uncle, Jack Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, James Conkle; sister, Shirley Ann Conkle Laney; and special nephew, Cory Wright.
Mr. Conkle was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late King David, Sr. and Frances “Frankie” Nelson Conkle. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
