Two individuals were arrested on drug charges in Cherokee County on Thursday.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained warrants for Ricky Shane Flynt, age 40 of Centre and while executing those warrants at a residence on County Road 40 deputies and investigators found illegal drugs.  As a result Flynt was charged with the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, in an unrelated investigation, 24 year Centre resident Cody Julian Shawnee Haney was taken into custody and was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  His arrest took place at a location on U.S. Highway 411 north.

Haney was booked into jail just before 3:00pm Flynt just prior to 4:00pm; both men remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting setting of bond.
