Gadsden Man Charged with Giving False Name in Attempt to Avoid Arrest

28 year old Christopher Antonio Leach of Gadsden is currently lodged in the Etowah County Detention Center under his real name after allegedly giving law enforcement officials a false name and date of birth in an attempt to avoid arrest. 

Investigator Adam Chapman stated that he was attempting to arrest Leach for outstanding warrants when he was given false information, leading to the arrest on one count of Using a False Identity to Obstruct Justice.  Leach was wanted for Robbery Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Motor Vehicle – and with Promoting Prison Contraband.

Bond for the False Identity warrant was set at $2,500; meanwhile, bond has yet to be set for the other charges.
