Two individuals were arrested on drug charges locally New Year’s Day.
64 year old Piedmont resident Franklin Thompson and 49 year old Syinia Vane Prater from Jacksonville were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in addition to Violation of the Prohibition Law.
They were booked into jail around 3:30 that afternoon and both were released shortly after 4:00 after making bond, which had been set at $1,500 for Thompson and $1,000 for Prater.
