A DeKalb County man died in a single-vehicle wreck during the early morning hours of last Friday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report lists the victim as 20 year old Colby Brian Brooks of Crossville, who apparently lost control of his Chevy Silverado pickup about 3:50am on County Road 26 before leaving the roadway and crashing into a tree.

That accident took place approximately three miles south of Crossville. 

According to troopers, Brooks – who wasn’t using a seat belt – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
